Refusal To Stay Down Part Three (Final Part)
Welcome back.
So it happened that the Pastor's wife couldn't hire me. She had thought my fee would be #5,000 per month as her other son's home teacher collected. (No offense to those collecting 5k per month). Once I noticed she couldn't hire me, I moved on still doing me. Don't forget 'the me I see is the me I'll be.'
.
I kept on doing me. Opportunity came again to teach 'Oral English' to those that'd write UTME. I went to all tutorial centres telling them about what I do, well, not all called me but some called me and I got busy again. I did that with all of me.
.
Meanwhile, when NYSC was still delaying, I went back to the school I was taking 'Spoken English.' They promised getting back to me but they didn't untill last month when I was already in camp. I still wouldn't give up!
.
At last, NYSC called and alas, I'm to go to Sokoto. Ha! I wanted to faint. Lots of thought flashed through my mind and since I didn't have the mind of redeploying. I summoned courage.
.
Getting to Permanent Orientation Camp, Wamako, I realise there was social night every night whereby anyone with anything be it talent or skill get to showcase before all the youth corp members and some NYSC officials. I decided I was going to do 'Oral Pronunciation Drill' as I noticed most people in camp don't speak well. The first time I did, people didn't really feel me but nobody would deny that I performed that night.
.
The next time I did, all youth corp members were already sitted anticipating to see me upstairs. When the MC called me up, I did my OPD and wow, people heard me. In fact, the SAED coordinator heard me, invited me to his office and promised me a fantastic PPA.
Well, he didn't and thank God I wasn't putting my trust in men too so I wasn't discouraged. I eventually got the PPA God wanted me to be.

What are my final words to you?
Life is a risk as well as an adventure, if you're not always ready, you'd fail.
.
Thanks for reading. I am Oral Peter.
