HOW ME AND MY SUPERVISOR WENT INTO AN INTELLECTUAL COMBAT
I had a supervisor for teaching practice yesterday while l presented a topic "Adhan and lqamah" The presentation was superb to the other extent that my supervisor laughed out his sorrow. Concluding this, he asked me a question concerning the condition of who can call the ADHAN, thus asking me " if females are not allowed to call to prayer and there is a reward for it, are they not deprived of their right as a muslimah? " I quickly realised he was a christain, the question was somehow funny and I replied him with a tone that puts him into permanent state of shut-up. I replied, "the females are not by any means deprived of their right and as a matter of fact,the females are blessed with a sweet and beautiful sound more than some males,and allowing them to call the adhan can cause many problems. "what are the problems? " he asked. The problems are many but amongst it is that of adultery and fornication, son in other to curb this, they are not allowed, l replied and turned the table by directing him to the book of 1corinthians chapter 14 verse 34 which read thus
" women should remain silent in churches, They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says.
he checked and confirmed and has nothing to say. he therefore dodged by saying "well, l like how you presented your lesson as you can also go through my comments, keep it up"
