The President of the World Bank Group, Jim Yong Kim, said on Thursday that the bank had concentrated on the northern region of Nigeria in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s request. Kim and the Managing Director, International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, who spoke at separate press conferences in Washington DC, United States, also advised Buhari to invest in things that would enhance economic growth. Criminals in Dubai ought to be shaking in their boots, as police in the Arab Emirate have introduced a flying motorbike. A new video shows a Dubai police officer testing out the new hoverbike, which has rotors instead of wheels that allow it to fly. The hoverbike, capable of flying 16ft above ground, is seen emblazoned with Dubai police emblems as it is tested for the cameras. With the hoverbike, police could get to the middle of traffic jams, which would be difficult with a normal car or even a motorbike.

New satellite TV, TSTV, to begin commercial operation November

Telcomm Satellite TV (TSTV) says its newly inaugurated pay TV, TSTV Africa, will begin commercial operation on November 1. Its Managing Director, Bright Echefu, made this known while briefing journalists on Saturday in Abuja. Mr. Echefu added that TSTV would launch its services with about 1 million decoders nationwide. He said at least 5,000 decoders TSTV would be released to the public next week for free, adding that it would use the first set of decoders with one month free subscription to test run its services. ​“Commercialisation of our decoders will resume officially on November 1 and by that time, every part of Nigeria would have TSTV decoders for people to buy.​ “We are releasing about one million which can go round and our target for the first quarter is one million units. “In every quarter we will bring one million units and we are targeting four million units within the next one year. “I can tell you categorically that some decoders will be released next week

TSTV Denies Copyright Infringement

TSTV has denied reports that it has infringed on the copyright of Bein Sports and Turner Broadcasting which owns CNN. Head of Corporate Communication for TSTV, Madu Ugo released this statement on the matter. “Our attention has been drawn to memos circulating on social media claiming TSTV illegally used the logo of Bein Sport and Tuner on its website. We wish to state that this is malicious and false. The memos circulating on social media are FAKE. Both letters were packaged in a single brown envelop and was hurriedly dropped at our office by an unidentified person. “TSTV has a non-disclosure agreement with Beni Sports and Turner to air their stations on TSTV satellite Television. The Nigeria Broadcasting Commission team were also in Qatar to confirm our agreement with Bein Sports and also have a copy of our agreement with Bein Sport. Wonder they say shall never end, this young artiste who goes by the name Weflo, just about last month got the Internet buzzing after he scattered the red carpet of City People Awards by stepping into the premises in a Limousine and body guards. The incident got many people questioning, where did this young guy get money to afford a limousine, even when the A-list artistes at that event came in standard cars? This dude shine so much at that event that even many of the media's crew ignored some of the top stars to interview him, as he was the center of attraction with the glamour he brought to the event. However, in a mysterious twist, according these photos currently circulating, Weflo was spotted somewhere in Lagos hours ago hustling hard at a building site with other bricklayers. Customs Intercepts 11 Vehicles Smuggled Into The Country

The Nigerian Customs Services has confiscated 11 vehicles among other items smuggled into the country. Other items intercepted included 4,227 bags of foreign parboiled rice, frozen poultry products, vegetable oil, Indian Hemp, medicaments, used tyres, scrap metals, wet blue, electric cables, unprocessed wood, bales of used clothing and shoes. A statement by Nigerian Customs reveals import duties were not paid for the confiscated items. The statement read "The Nigeria Customs Service have continue to clampdown on unrepentant smugglers, as Operatives of the Federal Operations Unit gave a score card of its activities from 29th of August - 3rd of October 2017. "The seized items include: 11 used vehicles, 4,227 bags of foreign parboiled rice, frozen poultry products, vegetable oil, Indian Hemp, medicaments, used tyres, scrap metals, wet blue, electric cables, unprocessed wood, bales of used clothing and shoes respectively with a duty paid value (DPV) of Three Hundred

Russian state-owned company TransTeleCom has provided a new internet connection to Kim Jong Un's regime, according to North Korea monitoring project 38 North. Cybersecurity experts have also confirmed the new Russian link. Nigeria Grants Tax Reliefs To TSTV Africa

New pay Television operator, TStv Africa, has been granted three-year tax relief by the federal government. The newly inaugurated television was also granted tax free dividends to all investors in the company. The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced incentives on Sunday night in Abuja at a dinner to mark the official unveiling of the new company. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports TStv Africa is a wholly owned by Nigerian Pay TV operator with refined offerings of novel Unclassified Pay Per View subscription and complimentary internet services. Mohammed who performed the official unveiling of the new company and its products said the tax reliefs were in line with the Pioneer Status recently granted to the Creative Industry by the Government.
